Powder Products

Auger fillers measure milk powder, coffee powder, protein powder, spice, flour and chemical powder.

Powder lines may add screw feeding, hopper level control, dust collection or filling nozzles that reduce powder loss around the container opening.

Granules and Pieces

A Typical Container Route

The machines in each project may change, but most lines follow the same basic route:

The closing stage depends on the container.

Coffee, nuts, candy and solid products may use a simpler route with weighing, filling, seaming and labeling.

Capping and Seaming Need More Than One Setting

Caps, pumps, lids and can ends vary in shape and feeding direction. A line may need a vibrating bowl, cap elevator or sorting conveyor to deliver each closure correctly.

Torque also matters. Loose caps may leak during transport, while excessive torque may damage the cap or container neck.

Labeling and Coding

Filled containers may use self-adhesive labels, wraparound labels, sleeve labels or front-and-back labels.

Round containers normally use wraparound labeling. Square bottles may need front-and-back labels. Cans can use labels or preprinted bodies, depending on the package design.

Coding equipment can print production dates, batch numbers, expiry dates and traceability information on the container, lid or label.

When the container surface contains oil, moisture or powder, the project may need a different code position or printing method.

Packing Bottles and Cans Into Cartons

Some products need a retail carton before shipping. A cartoning machine opens the folding carton, loads one or more containers and closes the carton.

The pallet pattern depends on case dimensions, weight and transport conditions. Heavy cases need stable lower layers. Tall pallets may need slip sheets or pallet wrapping after stacking.
